hahaha.. ohhh maaaan.. just realized something about perl, it seems that "false" is not false, and that "mystr" == "" evaluates to true.. for some reason.. why? well, in perl, only 0 and "" are false.. anything else is true.. including.. uh.. "false" even without the quotes.. haha.. *shakes head* and the == is for numeric comparison, if you want string, you need to use "eq".. haha.. i was really scratching my head there the last couple minutes.. ok, now i can sleep.. right?

"I know the resurrection is a fact, and Watergate proved it to me. How? Because 12 men testified they had seen Jesus raised from the dead, and then they proclaimed that truth for 40 years, never once denying it. Every one was beaten, tortured, stoned and put in prison. They would not have endured that if it weren't true. Watergate embroiled 12 of the most powerful men in the world — and they couldn't keep a lie for three weeks. You're telling me 12 apostles could keep a lie for 40 years? Absolutely impossible."

ok, its time we all learned this together (all info taken from wikipedia):
- in Christian end-times theology is the belief that Jesus Christ will literally and physically be on the earth for his millennial reign at his second coming. The doctrine is called premillennialism because it holds that Jesus’ physical return to earth will occur prior to the inauguration of the millennium.
Premillennialism is based upon a literal interpretation of Revelation 20:1-6 in the New Testament which describes Jesus’s coming to the earth and subsequent reign at the end of an apocalyptic period of tribulation. It views this future age as a time of fulfillment for the prophetic hope of God’s people as given in the Old Testament.
- is an interpretation of chapter 20 of the Book of Revelation which sees Christ's second coming as occurring after (Latin post-) the "Millennium", a Golden Age in which Christian ethics prosper.
Although some postmillennialists hold to a literal millennium of 1,000 years, most postmillennialists see the thousand years more as a figurative term for a long period of time (similar in that respect to amillennialism). Among those holding to a non-literal "millennium" it is usually understood to have already begun, which implies a less obvious and less dramatic kind of millennium than that typically envisioned by premillennialists, as well as a more unexpected return of Christ.
Postmillennialism also teaches that the forces of Satan will gradually be defeated by the expansion of the Kingdom of God throughout history up until the second coming of Christ.
- (Latin: a- "no" + millennialism) is a view in Christian end-times theology named for its rejection of the theory that Jesus Christ will have a thousand-year long, physical reign on the earth. [...] the amillennial view holds that the thousand years mentioned in Revelation 20 is a symbolic number, not a literal description; that the millennium has already begun and is identical with the current church age, (or more rarely, that it ended with the destruction of Jerusalem in AD 70 — see Preterism). Amillennialism holds that while Christ's reign during the millennium is spiritual in nature, at the end of the church age, Christ will return in final judgment and establish a permanent physical reign.
- interprets prophecies of the Bible, especially Daniel and Revelation, as events which have already happened in the first century A.D. Preterism holds that Ancient Israel finds its continuation or fulfillment in the Christian church at the destruction of Jerusalem in AD 70. The term preterism comes from the Latin praeter, which is listed in Webster's 1913 dictionary as a prefix denoting that something is "past" or "beyond," signifying that either all or a majority of Bible prophecy was fulfilled by AD 70. Adherents of preterism are commonly known as preterists.
- Post-Tribulation Rapture:
- is the belief in a combined Resurrection and Rapture (e.g., Resurrection-Rapture) of all believers coming after the Great Tribulation.
This doctrine holds that there is a Resurrection-Rapture of living believers in Jesus Christ at the end of the age (or the "End time"). Post-tribulationists believe that Christians will remain on the Earth through the three and a half year great tribulation period. This period starts at the Abomination of Desolation and ends at the Battle of Armageddon. They will be gathered by the angels to meet Christ in the air (raptured) at Christ's second coming immediately after the great tribulation just before the battle of Armageddon and then return with Him as Christ descends to the Earth, to usher in the Millennium (World to Come) on earth. This is usually understood as being in line with historic premillennialism.
- Prewrath rapture:
- states that Christians will be raptured sometime during tribulation that occurs in the second half of the seventieth week of Daniel, and before the day of the Lord's wrath (God's wrath). The prewrath position emphasizes the biblical distinction between tribulation (which Christians have been promised) and the wrath of God (which Christians have been promised deliverance/salvation from).
According to the Prewrath perspective, the great tribulation begins 3.5 years after the Antichrist "makes a covenant with the many" (Daniel 9:27), in the middle of "Daniel's 70th week." The 70th week is a reference to Daniel 9:24, where each day of the week corresponds to a year (for a total of seven years). After the first 3.5 years, the Antichrist will make himself known with the abomination that causes desolation, and he will reign for 3.5 years (42 months or 1260 days). The latter half of the 3.5 years is characterized by the Antichrist deceiving the world and persecuting the church.
Although the exact timing of the rapture is not known, one of the key points to the Prewrath view is that the rapture comes after the sixth seal is opened (Revelation 6:12), when the moon is turned into blood. The tribulation of God's people will then be cut short (according to Jesus in Matthew 24, Mark 13) with the second coming of Christ and the rapture, and those who are left behind on Earth will face the trumpets and bowls of God's wrath (Rev 16:1); hence the term "Prewrath."
this pre-wrath rapture one, i knew by the term of "pre-tribulation" rapture (as the diagram also uses).. so its interesting how it clarifies that distinction in the first paragraph of the definition.
you might be wondering where i stand on all these.. and as i posted some years back, im probably leaning more towards the pre-mill pre-wrath position. i havent really done a full, in-depth study on this, so my "leaning" could be swayed. though i do understand the arguments that amills have to support their position. post-mill i for sure do not believe tho. anyways, id love to hear your feedback on the subject.
hmm.. i guess i was wrong, sharks are
a type of fish.. and it seems that the biological classification of fish is really strange.. there is no fish "family" or "class".. its like a grouping of different classes together, not a single one. heres the wiki definition:
A fish is any member of a paraphyletic group of organisms that consist of all gill-bearing aquatic craniate animals that lack limbs with digits.
so there ya have it

did you know that a human's heart starts beating at 18 days? when the mother is only four days late for her first menstrual period? abortion stops a beating human heart. it ends the life of an innocent human being.

oh whoa, i found this entry in an open tab.. i guess i never clicked on "submit" who knows how many months its been waiting here
a comment i found on a post criticizing
the notion of personhood for the unborn:
Hmmm, who else in history has wished to deny personhood to others for their own convenience? Oh yes, Nazis claimed Jews were subhuman. Oh yes, the Confederate States claimed slaves were subhuman . Oh yes, imperialist conquerers claimed indigenous peoples were not really human (Australian aborigines were classified as fauna into the 1960s; white settlers regarded Native Americans as “savages”, etc.).
Let’s examine the analogy to slavery:
Confederate States denied the personhood of Africans and African-Americans.
You deny the personhood of the zygote, the proper name for “fertilized egg”, the single-celled, distinct organism formed at conception.
Confederate States claimed slavery is about “states’ rights”
You claim that abortion and use of abortifacient methods of birth control are “women’s rights”.
Confederate States claimed that slaves are the property of their owners and no one can infringe on what one does with one’s own property.
You claim that zygotes are essentially the property of their mothers, or in some strange anti-scientific arguments, equal to the bodies of their mothers (the whole” it’s my body, it’s my uterus” argument) and that mothers are the sole determiners of what happens to them.
People bought into the arguments for slavery until they were educated as to what the practice of slavery actual entailed in most cases (remember those pictures in our history books of the packed slave ship? Read Uncle Tom’s Cabin?)
Women buy into the rhetoric of “reproductive rights”, until they see their babies on sonograms, or see pictures of dismembered fetal remains (I believe this is grisly and shouldn’t be shown to children, let me just say this before someone throws that red herring), or are plagued by nightmares after having an abortion, or realize that contraception is really just enslaving us to men.
Seriously ladies, let’s think about it. What are you really fighting for?
she went on to say (or i guess she posted this before):
I’m a 29 year old woman, have used NFP for five years, only gotten pregnant when I wanted to. I’m not a Republican. I don’t use NFP for religious reasons. I’m a member of Phi Beta Kappa, so not a moron.
Now, can someone please explain to me why persisting in ignorance is part of the fight for women’s rights? It seems you wish to deny personhood to persons who actually warrant that status (not talking about trophoblastic disease because most of you are talking about actually viable fertilized eggs and your “right” to destroy them).
How does killing our children empower us as women?
Isn’t it more empowering to actually educate ourselves about our cycles (Lindsay, do you think women aren’t smart enough or responsible enough to do this?) and then NOT sleep with someone who doesn’t respect it?
Also, before you cite Planned Parenthood as the authority on women’s health, visit the website of the Better Business Bureau and browse the complaints lodged against PP sites all over the country.
Modern NFP (when used correctly, which I hope you trust women are smart enough to do) is more than 99% effective (sympto-thermal method is what I’m citing). You can’t get pregnant when you’re not fertile. Ta-daaa! Actual science!
Although, given the ethos of hatred and willful ignorance demonstrated by most of your comments, maybe it’s better if you people DIDN’T have babies. :) If your babies aren’t safe in your wombs, they probably wouldn’t be safe in your hands either.
a smart lady indeed. (please note i dont necessarily agree with a couple things she said, and lest it need mentioning, that last comment of hers was tongue-in-cheek.. shes obviously not saying that people in favor of abortion should have abortions because babies in their hands wouldnt be safe).. hmm.. that brings me to another idea:
people in favor of abortion should not be allowed to raise babies.
what do you think of such a notion? agree? disagree? interesting point though, right?
suuure, id let my 12 year old son play with a loaded gun without any supervision.. as long as he does it "safely".. why? wouldnt you??
sound logic (reapplied) from the "safe sex" crowd, right? yeah, its mine, feel free to use that one. just like "milk is bad for you? ah, its all in your head" -- "yeah, like a migraine"

i seem to have to write this out a lot, so, for your benefit, i repost here:
Romans 3:23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,
John 8:34 Jesus answered them, “Most assuredly, I say to you, whoever commits sin is a slave of sin.
Romans 3:10 As it is written:
“There is none righteous, no, not one;
11 There is none who understands;
There is none who seeks after God.
12 They have all turned aside;
They have together become unprofitable;
There is none who does good, no, not one.”
Ephesians 2:1 And you He made alive, who were dead in trespasses and sins,
1 John 4:10 In this is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins.
1 John 4:19 We love Him[a] because He first loved us.
John 6:36 But I said to you that you have seen Me and yet do not believe. 37 All that the Father gives Me will come to Me, and the one who comes to Me I will by no means cast out. 38 For I have come down from heaven, not to do My own will, but the will of Him who sent Me. 39 This is the will of the Father who sent Me, that of all He has given Me I should lose nothing, but should raise it up at the last day. 40 And this is the will of Him who sent Me, that everyone who sees the Son and believes in Him may have everlasting life; and I will raise him up at the last day.” [...] 43 Jesus therefore answered and said to them, “Do not murmur among yourselves. 44 No one can come to Me unless the Father who sent Me draws him; and I will raise him up at the last day.[...] 61 When Jesus knew in Himself that His disciples complained about this, He said to them, “Does this offend you? 62 What then if you should see the Son of Man ascend where He was before? 63 It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh profits nothing. The words that I speak to you are spirit, and they are life. [...] 65 And He said, “Therefore I have said to you that no one can come to Me unless it has been granted to him by My Father.” [...] 66 From that time many of His disciples went back and walked with Him no more. 67 Then Jesus said to the twelve, “Do you also want to go away?” [...] 68 But Simon Peter answered Him, “Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life. 69 Also we have come to believe and know that You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.”[a] [...] 70 Jesus answered them, “Did I not choose you, the twelve, and one of you is a devil?”
a slave does not have free will, a dead man has no will whatsoever. so, Jesus, john, and paul all preached a "calvinistic" understanding of the Gospel. notice Jesus says that nobody can come to the Father unless it is first granted by God.
