Jesus Christ Saved Me from 27 Years of Homosexuality
David testifies to being saved from a homosexual lifestyle that consumed his life for 27 years. David was involved deep into the lifestyle and only by God's Grace was He set free and made new in Christ.
1 Corinthians 6:9 - Or do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor men who practice homosexuality,
i am currently preparing the sermon for this sunday, on baptism (the natalien is getting baptized!!) and part of my research led me to this site:
clarifyingchristianity.com/get_wet.shtml (yeah it kind of terms things in a slightly unsolemn way to my chagrin --behold the power of the "relevant" church-- ugh!) and look what they say in one part:
Acts 9:18 - after this encounter with Jesus on the Damascus road, Saul (later renamed Paul) decided to accept Jesus—and was baptized.
now, to those of us with a bit better doctrine, it is immediately wrong with this verse.. NOBODY accepts Christ, this is impossible.. but, if we go to the relevant verses to see they are talking about:
4He fell to the ground and heard a voice say to him, "Saul, Saul, why do you persecute me?"
5"Who are you, Lord?" Saul asked.
"I am Jesus, whom you are persecuting," he replied. 6"Now get up and go into the city, and you will be told what you must do." 7The men traveling with Saul stood there speechless; they heard the sound but did not see anyone. 8Saul got up from the ground, but when he opened his eyes he could see nothing. So they led him by the hand into Damascus. 9For three days he was blind, and did not eat or drink anything.
10In Damascus there was a disciple named Ananias. The Lord called to him in a vision, "Ananias!"
"Yes, Lord," he answered.
11The Lord told him, "Go to the house of Judas on Straight Street and ask for a man from Tarsus named Saul, for he is praying. 12In a vision he has seen a man named Ananias come and place his hands on him to restore his sight."
13"Lord," Ananias answered, "I have heard many reports about this man and all the harm he has done to your saints in Jerusalem. 14And he has come here with authority from the chief priests to arrest all who call on your name."
15But the Lord said to Ananias, "Go! This man is my chosen instrument to carry my name before the Gentiles and their kings and before the people of Israel. 16I will show him how much he must suffer for my name."
17Then Ananias went to the house and entered it. Placing his hands on Saul, he said, "Brother Saul, the Lord—Jesus, who appeared to you on the road as you were coming here—has sent me so that you may see again and be filled with the Holy Spirit." 18Immediately, something like scales fell from Saul's eyes, and he could see again. He got up and was baptized, 19and after taking some food, he regained his strength.
Acts 9:4-19 (New International Version)
did you catch it? here it goes again:
15But the Lord said to Ananias, "Go! This man is my chosen instrument to carry my name before the Gentiles and their kings and before the people of Israel.
acts 9:15
who chose whom?? was it not Jesus who chose saul? where does it say saul accepted anything or anyone?? exactly.. unbelievable.. if they had so much as even READ the passage, they would not have written such blasphemous sacrilege.. *sigh*
anyhooze, for your edification:
10As it is written:
"There is no one righteous, not even one;
11there is no one who understands,
no one who seeks God.
12All have turned away,
they have together become worthless;
there is no one who does good,
not even one."
Romans 3:10-12 (New International Version)
isnt "accepting" Christ a "good" thing? how can we do such a thing if we are still unregenerate? the answer is, we CANT
John Piper, Paul Washer, Leonard Ravenhill, Tim Conway, Charles Leiter in a mashup on holiness, and who will enter heaven.. ignore the little smudge by piper (its not a "type" of holiness.. its holiness)
‎"The greatest miracle God can do is to take an unholy person out of an unholy world, make that unholy person holy, put them back in an unholy world and keep them holy."
just awesome explanation of john 3:16.. a definite MUST watch:
