to the door of the "all saints' church", in wittenberg, saxony (in present day germany), thus starting the reformation

we have been moving to a new place.. but since i dont have a license *cough* then we have to wait for my lovely wife to get back from work to drive us and move us.. since we dont have time on saturday to move (we've been summoned to be part of a play which is for evangelistic purposes.. plus, who doesnt love being in a play, and serving the Lord in one go??) soo, we've been doing the moving in the wee hours of the night.. ie, midnight.. and its just me and my lovelier (and weaker) half.. which means i carry and load and unload everything.. which means i have been more physically tired than im used to (which i hadnt realized until like today, the 5th day of doing that).. but the point of all this is saying that because of exhaustion, ive also been sleeping more deeply.. and you know what happens when i do.. yeah.. the crazy dreams!
so in recent years ive started having recurring dreams.. something that i used to never have.. in other words, i have dreams now that ive had before.. i used to never have that happen unless it was to like reveal things about those dreams i wouldnt have known before (like people who had appeared and that i would later meet in real life.. yeah.. talk about prophetical dreams..) and this week.. its been pretty crazy in my dreams..
when my dad was here last week for our graduation, i was telling him about this person (non believer) who goes to our church with a troubled past. and how there is evidence that he mightve been the one who attempted to steal my wife's laptop.. AT CHURCH.. we have a great love for this guy, and so the pastor was told to let him know he was still welcome at church but that "no more shenanigans" (thats how the pastor put it). so some time later we (pastor, him and me) were helping someone from our church to move out.. and during the lunch break, i shared the Gospel with him. at first he was closed and having trouble even listening to it.. but by the time i was done presenting the Gospel, he was literally yelling out "how can i be saved!!"
of course, i used that opportunity to share the Gospel with my dad (for those who dont already know, my dad is also a non believer, and in my time i lived with him back in 2001, this caused a LOT of trouble.. ). my dad patiently listened.. but who knows how much of it actually went in.. he definitely did not have the same response as the guy im mentioning here
in any case.. the point is to say that yesterday (or the day before?) i had one of these recurring dreams.. where this guy was there, and he was stealing people's watches.. oh WOW.. i just realized the significance of this! well, in last week's lesson of the evangelism course i was teaching, i gave the example of how even a free gift has value, and carries a responsiblity.. much like a gold rolex! (where you wouldnt leave a gold rolex just lying around for someone to take it, clarifying of course, that nobody can take your salvation away, but that its something we have to look after with "fear and trembling" --philippians 2:12) haha.. i guess thats why it appeared in my dream..
so he was just standing there, in this thing that looked like a small theater (hmm, maybe a reference to the imax 3d movie we went to see with my dad? but the orientation was different to the theater itself) and he was standing there holding several watches, and as people came in he held out the hand holding them, as if saying "valet parking for your fancy watches" and people would just give them to him.. but his intent was to steal them.. and in the dream i was there knowing this.. then we exited the building.. and it became sort of like an action movie.. where there was this cliff to the side, and it became really intense.. but the whole time i was preaching the Gospel to him.. but i began to get a crowd, and at one point we were all floating in a pool that had formed in the river next to the cliff.. and it was really interesting because in the dream i shared the full Gospel!! to the point where i saw a couple of the people visibly upset and leaving. but it was weird because i think they were all men, and had a distinct 50s style. i remember that i was answering questions as i presented, and said that we MUST repent.. i remember stressing that point, and that there was a single guy who was asking the questions..
when i woke up, i was thinking "wow! i shared the full Gospel in my dream!!". yeah it was awesome..
how interesting, huh?
oh whoa!! i just had the craziest deja vu too! creeepy! i need to go check my blog and see if i havent already typed all this.. because this is just weird!! where's bahb??
Volunteers flock to space experiment
By Richard Galpin
BBC News, Moscow
What would you be prepared to do for money? For $6,500 (£4,500) a month, to be precise?
How about the following: locking yourself inside a small metal container for three months without any communication with the outside world, with electronic monitors attached to various parts of your body and with frozen baby food and cereal bars for breakfast, lunch and dinner?
imagine getting paid to spend 3 months studying your bible almost without distractions??? maaaan..
in any case, the purpose of the experiment (was) to see the effect of isolation as part of the goal to get humans to mars one day
The Mars 500 experiment here in Moscow will focus on the psychological difficulties of prolonged isolation and claustrophobia.
"It's a real probability that a flight to Mars would fail if the very serious problem of isolation is not investigated first," says Oliver Knickel, an army engineer from Germany who is one of the volunteer "astronauts" for the experiment.
"The impact of the isolation would almost certainly kill the crew on board."

"If traditional religion is absent from the public arena, secular religions are likely to satisfy man's quest for meaning. ... It was an atheistic faith in man as creator of his own grandeur that lay at the heart of Communism, fascism and all the horrors they unleashed for the twentieth century. And it was adherents of traditional religions - Martin Niemöller, C.S. Lewis, Dietrich Bonhoeffer, Reinhold Niebuhr, Martin Buber - who often warned most clearly of the tragedy to come from attempting to build man's own version of the New Jerusalem on Earth."
i found this while reading up on Religion in Nazi Germany

learn the quran, get a free assault rifle! Somali rebels give AK-47 to best young koran reciter
KISMAYU, Somalia, Oct 17 (Reuters) - The 17-year-old winner of a Koran recital and general knowledge competition organised by al Shabaab rebels in Southern Somalia got an AK-47 gun, two hand grenades, a computer and an anti-tank mine as prizes.
The runner-up in the month-long competition aimed at 10-25 year olds, a 22-year-old, received an AK-47 and ammunition at the ceremony, where the rebels urged parents to allow children to learn how to handle weapons and fight against the enemy.

hahah awesome! nothing like the hollywood classics to teach some basic logic to thems atheists..

does this sound ridiculous? "not all the years in 1900s were in the 20th century.. but most were!" cuz it does to me! and thats what people who say that the millieniums start with the year ending in 1.. in other words, 1900 was not in the 20th century, ah, but 1901 was..

soooo.. you mightve already heard by now, but none other than obama
has received the
nobel peace prize
.. yeah, no joke.. or maybe that IS the joke.. that its for real.. in any case, this is really blowing my mind.. and you know how i get when that happens.. heres my last two status messages on my social networking site of choice:
yo man, if theyre just GIVING these peace prizes away, then i want one too! i think i heard my sister's puppy is getting one as well.. he accepted it saying "how did you know i had intentions of perhaps doing something that might one day lead to peace if everything works out fine?"
in other news.. obama also got the nobel prize for chemistry... not shocked, obama had this to say "uhh.. the nobel committe and i, we got great chemistry, what can i say?.."
and also in response to bahb
's response, which read thusly:
I guess killing babies doesn't disqualify you from a Nobel peace prize... so they must be awarding him for making peace with "older" humans.
i responded thusly:
or maybe its cuz they know that perhaps in the future one of those babies mightve done something really bad, and in ridding the world of it he kept the peace.. the world peace
and of course my brother
had this to say:
so I get a Nobel prize for saying I'm going to close Guantanamo but not doing it, for saying I'm pulling out the troops from Irak [sic] but not doing it, for actually having in my plans a war in Afghanistan, and for having a beer and hamburgers with politicians yet with no peace agreements of weight signed?....sounds like a good deal to me..
and mike the jew
weighed in too:
Obama awarded Nobel Peace Price for not being Bush... I think it's only fair that I receive one also... add the Nobel foundation to the list of irrelevant world bodies alongside the UN.
and then of course, i had to make my own kanye vs obama pic
(yes, its an insaner original)
yeah, this is just ridiculous..

We believe that the easiest way to change people's behaviour for the better is by making it fun to do. We call it The fun theory. + view video
however, this got me thinking right away.. due to something they said right at the end..
"fun can obviously change behavior for the better."
hmm.. but just push it a little further.. fun can change any sort of behavior in any sort of direction.. just make it fun, and people will veer toward it..
my immediate first thought was, "holey! entertainment!" you know? just push any sort of message through the pipes of entertainment, and you have behavior modification the easy way! think about it.. 50 years ago, homosexuality was a shameful, unspeakable behavior.. and now, since the media (entertainment.. "funness") is all over it (try watching a movie without a gay character.. come on.. i dare ya.. try and find one) and so, if you can laugh about it.. it becomes ok.. and so thats what we have now.. just make it fun, people will jump on it (no pun intended.. the video, of course)
what other examples do you know of stuff like this.. ? where making something "fun" also made it ok?
